about the film

Robin Robin is Aardman’s first stop-motion musical, released in 2021. Produced by Aardman for Netflix, the film recounts the tale of Robin, a sweet-natured and curious little bird who is raised by a family of burglar mice. But with her flappy wings and birdy ways, Robin doesn’t quite fit in with her siblings, particularly when it comes to sneaking around “Who-Man” houses to gather crumbs.

Refusing to believe she’s no good at Sneaking, Robin sets out to prove to her family that she can be a really good mouse, meeting some colourful characters along the way, from a charismatic Magpie who loves shiny things to a menacing cat whose sights are set firmly on catching Robin.

As Robin embarks on her quest, she learns some important lessons about the importance of being yourself and embracing your differences.

The film was created and directed by Dan Ojari and Mikey Please and features original music by The Bookshop Band.

MEET THE CHARACTERS

Drag me
ROBIN, VOICED BY BRONTE CARMICHAEL

Robin was raised by a family of burglar mice. She’s an outgoing and optimistic young bird but has a small chip on her shoulder about being different from the rest of her family. To stay safe, the mice family must be silent and cautious, creeping in the shadows, but Robin’s natural birdy ways mean she’s bold, inquisitive and prone to singing! She makes a bit of a song and dance about being sneaky, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be a great thief!

BEHIND THE SCENES

Drag me

The directors of Robin Robin, Dan Ojari and Mikey Please, acted out every scene of the film as a reference for the animation crew, often playing multiple characters in the same scene!
